Hack WIFI Passwords Using Windows

Wi-Fi or WiFi is a technology that allows electronic devices to connect to a wireless LAN (WLAN) network, mainly using the 2.4 gigahertz (12 cm) UHF and 5 gigahertz (6 cm) SHF ISM radio bands. A WLAN is usually password protected, but may be open, which allows any device within its range to access the resources of the WLAN network.

Wi-Fi is less secure than wired connections, such as Ethernet, precisely because an intruder does not need a physical connection. Web pages that use TLS are secure, but unencrypted Internet access can easily be detected by intruders. Because of this, Wi-Fi has adopted various encryption technologies. The early encryption WEP proved easy to break. Higher quality protocols (WPA, WPA2) were added later. An optional feature added in 2007, called Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), had a serious flaw that allowed an attacker to recover the router’s password. The Wi-Fi Alliance has since updated its test plan and certification program to ensure all newly certified devices resist attacks.

There are many ways to hack WiFi.

WIFI Passwords can be hacked by using cmd by “NETSH”

Netsh is a command-line scripting utility that allows you to, either locally or remotely, display or modify the network configuration of a computer that is currently running. Netsh also provides a scripting feature that allows you to run a group of commands in batch mode against a specified computer. Netsh can also save a configuration script in a text file for archival purposes or to help you configure other servers.

To Get the WIFI password of any connected Network or Already connected Network you can use netsh. The  WPA2 WIFI passwords are stored locally.

Steps to Find the Password of Any connected or Already Connected Network

Step 1: Hit the Windows Key in the keyboard and type cmd. Right click on the cmd and Click on “Run As Administrator”

Step 2: Type “Netsh wlan show profiles” in your CMD

Netsh is a command-line scripting utiliy, WLAN stands for Wireless Network card, Show is used to just display the contents, profiles Lists the all wifi networks which is connected.

Step 3: Choose a WIFI server name to get the password of the Network. Here i choose my own Network.ie Jay Ryan

Step 4: Type “Netsh wlan show profile “Network Name”.

The Netsh show command will show all the information regarding the Network you choose. It Displays the Version,  Type, Name and Control options. We are here looking for a Key so look for Security key below. if the Security key is present then we can get the password of the network.

ESSID: Shows the wireless network name. The so-called “SSID”, which can be empty if SSID hiding is activated.

CIPHER: The cipher detected. TKIP is typically used with WPA and CCMP is typically used with WPA2.

Step 5: Type “Netsh wlan show profile “Network Name” key=clear. Now you can find an another section called key content which is the password of the Network.

You can also try this hack with all the Networks you have connected from the day you got the PC.

Note: Netsh wlan show command will only display the bunch of information your looking for. To configure the network type “Netsh wlan Help” which displays a the available commands and syntax how to use or to know more about NETSH Click here
