OnePlus 2 – 2016 Flagship Killer was announced through a VR event on a special app launched by OnePlus. OnePlus 2 is the successor to OnePlus One.
OnePlus 2 will be available in two versions of 64GB and 16GB priced at $389 and INR 22,999 or $329 respectively. The company continued the trend of not providing any expandable memory option. OnePlus 2 is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. RAM also varies with internal memory of the phone as 64GB version comes with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM while the other version has “only” 3GB RAM.
The screen size and resolution remains same as OnePlus One at 5.5 inch display with 1080p resolution protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. Keeping with the market trend, OnePlus 2 is equipped with a Fingerprint sensor placed at the bottom of the screen. The battery in the smartphone is 3300 mAh.
OnePlus 2 will have dual-Nano SIM capability with LTE connectivity. The bad news for Indian buyers is that Indian LTE bands are not supported by the phone. The phone’s data and charging port is a USB Type-C port. The usual LED notification, 3.5mm jack, noise cancellation, Bluetooth 4.1 forms a part of the package.
OnePlus 2 will come with StyleSwap covers. With StyleSwap you can change the back of the phone to Bamboo, Rosewood, Black Apricot and Kevlar finish while the original device comes in Sandstone Black.
OnePlus has kept the system of selling through invites for OnePlus 2 also. To buy a OnePlus 2 you’ll have to apply for an invite and if you happen to be lucky you may get one soon. Or you may ask one of your friends who purchased the device to share the extra invite they receive with the device.
