Stable Android M Update For Honor 6 H60-L04

HOW TO INSTALL STABLE ANDROID M B810

Huawei India has recently released Android Marshmallow (Emui 4.0) stable limited public release. You can now install it on your Honor 6 L04 even on Malaysia, Europe and other international verisons too. But you need to have Indian lollipop B560 (CUSTC675D006) EMUI 3.1 as base rom.

Marshmallow has good features like UI changed based on backgroud wallpaper and apps. It is more smooth and has performance improvements over Lollipop.

Caution Notice:

User’s requested to read the entire post and follow the instructions carefully. From Marshmallow Huawei removed Local update option from settings. so users cannot install future OTA versions manually. only way to update future releases through on-line OTA or manual installation using FULL ROM update package.

Pre Requirements:

  1. Users requested to have lollipop build B560 (CUSTC675D006) as base version, For B560 installation procedure – Visit here
  2. H60-L04C675B560CUSTC675D006 OTA file – [sociallocker] Download [/sociallocker]
  3. Stable Android M B810  OTA file- [sociallocker] Download here [/sociallocker]

Installation Steps:

A). User those who are in other older versions (lower than B560) requested to download and upgrade their version to B560 from Step 1 mentioned in pre requirements.

B). Users those who were completed above B560 installation, requested to download and install H60-L04C675B560CUSTC675D006 OTA file from Step 2 mentioned in pre requirements.

C). After successful installation of above two versions now follow the mentioned procedure to update stable Android M B810.

Installation procedure for H60-L04C675B560CUSTC675D006 OTA:

Please ensure that users were successfully installed B560 from step 1.

Note: Donot extract the zip file. Just rename it into update.zip

  1. Download H60-L04C675B560CUSTC675D006 OTA zip file and rename it into update.zip.
  2. Copy the update.zip into dload folder in SD card or Internal memory. if dload folder is not there then create it.
  3. Then do local update.

Android Marshmallow Installation procedure:

Please ensure that users were successfully installed H60-L04C675B560CUSTC675D006 OTA file from Step 2 mentioned in pre requirements.

Note: Donot extract the zip file. Just rename it into update.zip

  1. Download Stable Android M ota zip file and rename it into update.zip.
  2. Copy the update.zip into dload folder in SD card or Internal memory. if dload folder is not there then create it.
  3. Then do local update.
  4. After update factory reset is recommended.

How to do Local update:

  • Open updater app and select local update (or) Go to settings>updates>system updates and select Local update.
  • Select install and wait patiently. in  between do not press power button.
  • After successful installation device will reboot.

  3. i cannot update ..b006 file…am on b570 now…neither can update b810,,,it says installation failed

    • you need to extract one time…there is a zip file inside another….dont extract the zip file which is inside….copy n rename the zip file which is inside to ‘update.zip’

    I do have an Honor 6 H60-L12, how do I get the Android 6 update?
    It already the end of march, while india got this update early february?

I was worried but followed all the steps accurately and everything works, takes a little while but sure works 😀 i just got it to 6.0! thank you very much. for other users I will post info on how it runs after I install many apps that I need over a couple of days and then see if everything runs well

I’m currently on B510 version and I had installed the recovery of TWRP and now to update it to EMUI 4 or Marshmallow I saw that I must install stock recovery of B510 which I’m not getting on Internet I tried to install B511 and have installed that stock recovery. Now, I can’t update it as well via local update and I’m stuck what should I do?

  13. I have a Huawei Honor 6 H60-L04 that was bought in India. The version of the software is:

    B374, Android 4.4.2, EMUI 3.0

    Please suggest how to upgarde on the higher version of the Android and EMUI?

    What is the correct way? I mean which steps I should follow from B374 ???
